What is the best way to fight adult acne?
there are a few different types of acne. http://www.acne.com/types_acne/acne_type... Im 20 and have had acne ever since i was 12. i used everything including proactiv and natures cure and nothing worked, which was very disappointing. about a month ago I began using regular anti-bacterial soap on my face and my face hasnt been this clear since i can remember.

it sounds like you have a different type of acne though. it wouldnt hurt to try antibacterial soap but i would recommend seeing a dermatologist.
Reply:It's really acne? Then it's no different from teenage acne. It needs the same treatment. Benzoil peroxide.
Reply:see dermatologist......best and effective

solved my problem which bothers me for a few years

i wish i had know that earlier =]
Reply:keep your hands washed and out your face sweetheart try to goto your derm they whould love to help you my rec. try tazorac 0.05% and a lotion called cetaphil put it on before u goto bed every day only a pea size it will burn the hell out of you then when u get up wash and PUT THE LOTION ON if u dont your body will make oils and cause more zits and pimples
Reply:I had a problem when I was in my early twenties with acne. I went to my dermatologist and he gave me two medicines. One was kind of a lotion, one was a gel. I put one on before bed and it dried the hell out of my face, then the one I put on in the morning was like a maintenance thing.

The best over-the-counter stuff I've found has been 10% benzole peroxide (ZapZit) at night and then Clinique daily moisturizer during the day.

But I swear, the stuff from the doctor was amazing. They've got good stuff there!

It's about two years later now and I don't have any problems with acne.
Reply:Hydrogen Peroxide
Reply:go see a esthetician. they are not really expensiive and they take care of skin problems through natural means. They are not doctors. If you went and had a couple treatments done you'd learn a lot of basic things that you don't hear other places. I had very bad Acne from about 16-22. Once i went to an esthetician, I have never had an acne problem since. look in your yellow pages.

DO NOT go and see a dermatologist. They will prescribe harsh medicines that in the short term might make it seem better but will not solve the problem. Dermatologists are rip offs and dpon't really care about you!!! Estheticians CARE about you!
Reply:Birth control helps a lot. Something like Ortho Tricyclen or Yasmin may help you as much as it helped me! Also, of note, since it is around your jaw, clean your phone. Seriously--like wipe it off with alcohol. Germs get on your phone, then you rub them onto your face and can break out. Also, don't rest your chin in your hands when you're bored. Touching your face can make acne a lot worse, too. If it doesn't clear up, see your gyno or dermatologist. It is worth spending the money to go to a doctor since you get quicker results and can prevent scarring. By the time I tried a lot of different products and waited it out, I would've been better seeing a doctor.
Reply:Have you been using a different make-up, or have you started working out recently? I had a huge problem with acne as an adult when I went on fertility medication. Your hormones may have changed, are you using a different birth control? At your age I used to get acne when the seasons changed as well.

I would recommend cutting sugar out of your diet for a while, totally. I use Cetaphil lotion for cleansing twice daily and use Neostrata aha lotions for moisturizing and for eye care. I love the stuff.
Reply:If it's a small break out then proactive maybe too harsh. But if you still want to use it there is actually a much cheaper product called acne free that is the exact same thing. Try drinking a lot of water, getting more sleep, and eating tomatoes. Tomatoes will help to balence the ph measure of your skin. Also don't lean of you hands or touch your face, even leaning on the phone is bad. If you wear make-up, then take it off as soon as you get home. When you wash your face wash with warm water to open the pores and close them with cold water. if benzil proxide is not working try siletic (I can't spell it, so you may have to look it up sry) but siletic acid. Something like that. Anyway that stuff works really well. Also try oil bloating papers if your skin is oily. They have them at a lot of Asian stores. Changes in climate and stress can also cause acne. Another cause of acne can be chemicals your allergic too, so if you've switched cleaning chemicals or anything in your house then that could also affect you.

Reply:I had acne for a long time and now i am turning 21 in couple of months its all gone. I was told by a friend to use proactiv about couple months ago it worked for me Because i been eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and lean meats also drink TONS OF WATER. and also makes u go bathroom a lot.. stayed away from fast food also get as much sleep as possible..
Reply:I'm 32 and started breaking out a few weeks back. The best thing that I found was Clearasil face wash. Use it a few times a day. I have oily skin, so to dry it out, i use a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol to really get the bacteria off. Plus, tanning about twice a week really helps my complexion.
