Does aldactone help with female adult acne ? What are the side effects?

This is a hormonal replacement drug especially for females during there menstraul cycle. When acne flares up around this time at its worse.

Does aldactone help with female adult acne ? What are the side effects?
Aldactone can help with female adult acne since it does work to regulate certain hormones in the body (namely the androgens).

The major side effect is that you will have more frequent urination. This is because it is a diuretic. Since it is a diuretic, you will need to watch out for dehydration.

The rest of the potential side effects are the same as with any other medication - headaches, nausea, etc. These are pretty rare, though.

Good luck!

Reply:Aldactone is not a hormone nor a hormone regulator. It's an androgen blocker. All it does is block the androgen receptors in your skin from getting the androgens. So, it's used for acne, excess facial hair, and hair loss. And other things. Report It

Reply:You've probably tried a lot of topical treatments already, but I've founds something wonderful for my my mild+ breakouts, especially once a month (I'm 36, but my chin and forehead think I'm still 16). Juice Beauty's Redness Reducing Serum (all organic) halts the development of my pimples, significantly reduces the redness, and actually eliminates them in 1-2 days--all without drying my skin or leaving it feeling greasy. I've been completely amazed. They also have a Blemish Clearing Serum which I expect would be good for more severe acne. At only $36 a bottle, it's worth a try before starting hormone replacement therapy.
