Solutions for Adult Acne?

I am 30 and have alot of acne I have tried alot of products and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

Solutions for Adult Acne?
i'm 35 and have the same problem. everyone says proactive. it costs a lot though.

i usually don't answer these questions, but i want to say that my acne around my chin area is clearing up really good now.

i just make sure i wash my face at least once a day. and i put a very light moisturizer just around my chin %26amp; cheek area.

i know that just washing your face sounds like nothing..but i honestly wasn't washing it everyday. i have to make it a habit to wash.

now, i can "feel" when it's getting dirty, and need to wash it...just like you can "feel" when your hands are dirty.

i use whatever is around...plain soap works great for me. i tried all kinds of fancy face soaps. they just cost me more money, and seemed like now that i look back, that they were making my face worse.

also, my daughter had baby acne when she was young. i put on cortizone %26amp; it made it go away. i hear witch hazel or hydrogen peroxide works on new bumps.

that's the other thing...i wasn't getting "pimples" per say, but just bumps around my chin area, and i hated them!

good luck, and i feel your pain!!
Reply:thanks for best answer on your question!

glad i could help!

have a good night! Report It

Reply:Try using Proactiv
Reply:pop what needs to be popped, then clean your face with alcohol applied with cotten balls, this is the best way i know of. it has worked great for me for 20 years now, i still look like i'm in my late teens, early 20's
Reply:I had the same problem for years and nothing I tried worked, in fact it got worse. Back then we didn't have dermatologists to prescribe meds for it. You can go to one and probably get meds, or you could try what I did, and it worked for me...my skin has been clear as a bell for 35 years. First of all, I quit using makeup, then I stopped using anything except warm water and a clean white washrag. Wash gently with warm water, then rinse in cool water. Do this twice a day. It worked when nothing else would.

Good luck.
Reply:Use an exfoliant everyday, Aveeno has a skin brightening scrub. Their acne facial bar soap is great too. After you wash your face use Witch Hazel, you can usually find it everywhere it's clear, in a clear bottle with I think yellow writing. It works good for getting rid of acne and drink lots of water and green tea. The water helps flush toxins out of your blood so does the green tea. It also keeps your skin supple.
Reply:You need to wash your face at least twice a day. Dont scrub it too hard either. That can irritate it and make you break out worse. Dont over dry either, just pat with a soft towel. Pick a facial cleanser that is for your face type. Be it dry, oily (like mine), or combination. If you dont know go ask one of the women at the make up counter at the mall. They can help more than you know. Dont use things like alchohol, bar soaps, etc. They are harsh and can be abrasive to the sensitive skin, which can cause the acne you are trying to get rid of. Let see what else? Oh yeah, if you have larger more unsightly pimples you can dab toothpaste on them. Not the gel kind, the paste. It dries them out pretty well. I do it every once in a while, and you can feel it working. Keep your hair off your face too. The oils and product in your hair can clog pores, not to mention your makeup can make your hair dirty too. Wash your pillowcase regularlly, and dont sleep with makeup on. I have the same problem belive me. Hope this helps a bit. If all else fails go see a dermatologist. After all thats what they do.
Reply:I use Proactive... It does really work if you use it and for only $50.00 a month that is about equal to all those over the counter items you'll end up buying that don't work... And my skin is supersensitive and it doesn't make it red or dry like other stuff might.
Reply:I'm 38 and I've been using Proactiv for almost ten years. It is absolutely worth the price. Someone mentioned that it's $50 a month - that's not correct, it's about $45 (including shipping) for the basic 3-piece system every TWO months. That's about 75 cents a day. Stop drinking one soda a day, and you'll save enough money to pay for the Proactiv.

They have a money back guarantee, and now they offer a 30-day trial system for $20.

By the way, popping is bad - it can lead to scarring. Cleansing with regular soap or even most facial washes doesn't make much difference if your skin produces the kind of sticky oil that leads to most chronic adult acne.
Reply:diane-35 treats adult acne internally.
