Adult acne: know of any unusual treatments/products that help treat it?

I've had it all my life. Mostly on my chin. Nothing seems to help. I have sensitive, combination skin so typical meds for it dry me out, which only looks worse. Anyone?

Thanks.

I too have sensitive skin, so I know what you're dealing with. If typical OTC meds irritate your skin, you definitely don't want to try ProActiv; the "soothing" gels and scrubs in this kit contain lots of peroxide, which is a huge no-no if your skin is easily dried out.

I recommend buying some Biore products, they work wonders. Get some pore minimizing cream and possibly the heated scrub. Wash your face *gently* when you wake up with warm water, as hot as you can stand it: this will open your pores up. Take the heated scrub (mild exfoliating scrub will also work well) and apply liberally to your face, be sure to be a bit generous in the problem area. After lathering for a minute or two, rinse your face with ICE COLD water: this will close your pores. After drying, apply the pore minimizing scrub. Repeat this process again before you go to bed.

Remember to keep your hands away from your face, and try to resist popping your zits!
Reply:Acne scars caused by acne squeezing are more common than doctors once believed; most people will have acne scars that are mild. However, some will have acne scars that look significant even to others with acne. The best approach is prevention and to treat acne right away as sometimes even mild acne can cause scarring, this can minimize the risk of permanent acne scars. There are a number of different looking scars caused by acne. The acne scar treatment you get will depend on the type of scars you have, as well as on your skin type. There are many medical advances in treating facial scars. Generally, acne scars on the chest and back do not respond as well to acne treatment scar remedies.
Reply:proactive helps. Even though it may be expensive it does really work.
Reply:Serious Skin Care (sold on Home shopping network) or proactive (sold on QVC). It isn't what you eat, but you should drink alot of water. Once you have control of your skin, then use a good skin care line to intermix. I use Principal Secret. Sold on QVC or from her own club. Your make-up may also be contributing to your problem. Bare minerals is great for problem skin. And...keep hands off of face.
Reply:One and only 100% effective and established long term cure (up to 1 year) - a treatment with RO-ACUTANE under STRICT medical control.
Reply:The best way I have found to quickly treat this is with toothpaste (Let dry on face and wash off with hot water and wash cloth) and facial moiturizer. The toothpaste dries the area quickly and safely. The moiturizer keeps the face from over-drying, causing more problems, and does not cause further oiliness.
