What's the best treatment for adult acne?

I'm looking for the best treatment before I pay for something that doesn't work.

What's the best treatment for adult acne?
The BEST thing I found is PROACTIV, it works great. Its a 3 step process, that you should do twice a day. But for me once my face cleared up, I use it once a day to prevent future breakouts.
Reply:Proactive!!! It works great. I have been using it for 2 yrs now. Good Luck! :)
Reply:You can find some good information on acne here http://hort.net/+1i5r also treatments and other stuff covered.

How do you get rid of ADULT acne?

I had that problem quite seriously some years ago. In the end the doctor had me sent for a session under a UV lamp for long enough to give me "sunburn".. Literally the skin on torso peeled off. It worked, but if you can find a less drastic solution - go for it.

Proactive Solution is said to work well!
Reply:DRINK ALOT OF WATER
Reply:I used Loreal adult acne peel...AMAZING...I have reallly sensative skin and I had no reactions...it's about 23.99 I honestly loved it and it helpped for old scarring!!!
Reply:avoid spicy food, avoid applying anything on ur skin and wash ur face with medicated soaps only

u'll see the result in 1 week
Reply:get laid more often
Reply:Search for Acne here http://www.redtagdeals.com/searchlist.ph...

and it shows you Proactive, Acne Clear etc. with some free / coupons / promotions.
Reply:try proactive or go to your dermatoligist
Reply:Stop using soad. Use nuetrogene or aveeno bar. Make sure you use a toner after cleansing and use a mild moisturizer. I did this and I haven't had a pimple since. Also do not use a wash cloth, it will irratate your acne. Use your hands instead to wash your face.
Reply:I think that drinking water and cutting greasy foods really helps. I used retinA gel and it was okay. I have very sensitive skin though so I have never been able to completely get rid of it.
Reply:Proactive and drink lots of water, avoid soda!
Reply:vanity, oh vanity. stop letting peer pressure take over. i'm 24 and i still get them. it ain't really acne. try washing more or less often, dependent on your skin type. a specific type of moisturiser may help.
Reply:Using a slightly rough scrubbing mitt. It works well to open the pores and allow them to purge. You need to use it every day when you bath.

Some people are apparently much more susceptible than others.
Reply:I had adult acne and went to a dermatologist and he gave me Retin-A. However, there are some things that I've been doing (which are MUCH cheaper) and have worked just as well. I bought an over the counter acne cleanser. I also use the cleansing pads twice a day. I never go to bed with my make-up on. Once a week facial masks are also good. Believe it or not, your diet also plays an important key on your skin. I eliminated all soda's and juices and drink A LOT of water. Certain foods are a great source of antioxidants so just do a search on google on antioxidant foods and it will give you a list. Avoid foods that are heavy on fats and grease. I cut out fried foods, chocolate (although not entirely), potato chips, etc. I still love and eat those foods, but I eat them in moderation and not very often.

If you're acne does not improve, then I would suggest seeing a dermatologist and asking for some sort of prescription. Doesn't have to be Retin-A, since it's very expensive and not all health insurance's cover it. Hope this info helps. Good luck!!

...another thing. Stress can make your face break out. So if you're under a lot of stress, try ways to cope and minimize that stress. Exercise, breathing techniques, counseling, etc. Just get rid of the stress.

Does anyone else have problems with adult acne. I tried Proactive and it did nothing.?

Evening primrose oil. I am having the same problem, it is probably a change in your hormones. Try them they will change your life.

If you have adult acne it is best to see a Dermatologist.

He will prescribe something for the specific acne you have.

Proactive is good if the acne is caused by a bacterial infection, but acne has many causes, including hormonal, so rather see a specialist.
Reply:i have adult acne and i used proactive as well and the same here i just clean my face every day wih regular coccoa butter soap and use a tone cream it works fine for me but i also cut back on greasy foods soda chocalate junk food in general.
Reply:don`t scratch `em and wash more often if this is not working go to doctor
Reply:Try the new Loreal Acne Response, it is made for adults and it works great. I love it !!!! It's about $25 for the 3 piece kit and you can get it at any drugstore. They also have a peel kit that is great. Good Luck.
Reply:It could just be the products you are using. Go for products that say non-comedegenic which means it won't clog your pores.

Sometimes as we get older, we think our skin is dry and keep adding heavy creams when in reality it is just dehydrated and what we really need is to drink more water. Water will help flush out the toxins that can cause problems with your skin.

If your skin is oily, be less agressive in the treatment. As you cleanse and exfoliate, you are telling your body to produce more oils.
Reply:Treat your skin gently. Drink lots of water. Acne is caused by hormones. Proactiv makes me break out in a rash. I use birth control pills to keep the pimples away. I use Neutrogena products for cleansing, toner and moisturizer. My skin is much better now. I also go for a glycolic acid facial every 3-4 months.

What z the best product for adult acne? i've never had it b4. and it's driving me nuts.?

I just use natural soap and witch hazel. The chemicals in the conventional products are just too risky. I'd rather deal with a few pimples now than have to get skin cancer scraped off later on. Skin cancer rates have doubled in teh last 30 years, and are continuing to rise. I think I'll listen to the scientists and avoid the chemicals.

Reply:Proactive really does work. I tried EVERYTHING trust me EVERYTHING put off trying proactive cause I didn't have the money finaly broke down and bought it and it was the best thing I ever did for myself. It's not that much like 50.00 bucks every 2 months.

How do I get rid of adult acne (I am over 30)?

Go speak to your family doctor he/she can write you a prescription for something that is very effective. I tried Proactive and find it works really well but if it's severe acne it may not be strong enough.

How do I get rid of adult acne (I am over 30)?
have you tried going dairy free?
Reply:to get rid of acne you need to cut: chocolate, cheeze, and carbinated drinks (i.e. coke) out of your diet and drink lots of water.

i know that really sucks but it will help
Reply:Use the product ProActive. It really works!!! I am not lying. You will literally be amazed at how good it will work for you. When you buy it stick to it because the first week it will get worse but it's only cleaning you face. By 15 days your acne will be completely be gone. Make sure you get the three steps and the mask also.

How can I get rid of adult acne. I'm in my 30s and keep getting big spots on my chin that just won't go.

Please help!! I am even considering laser treatment which will cost hundreds. My job is about image and I can't go on much longer suffering these dreaded spots that I thought I had outgrown as a teenager.

How can I get rid of adult acne. I'm in my 30s and keep getting big spots on my chin that just won't go.
I am in my 30's as well and I sufferd the same problem for about a year and a half then they vanished just as quickly as they came. Our bodies go through mega hormonal changes when we are in our 30's and there is even a name for it, it is called peri menopause. You can find more information by going to google and typing in peri menopause. (hope I spelled that right)
Reply:Have you tried proactive? If you have a dermatologist you should see them I'm sure they could really help.Good Luck
Reply:Try Piritron from your chemist, failing that ask your GP for

anti-biotics.
Reply:I get big spots, well I used to, but on my bum, which isnt as bad but hurt like a hurty thing!! anyway I take Boots Skin Perfection, its their own brand, and costs under £10 per pack, now I hardly ever get spots anywhere, its good stuff!
Reply:Try proactiv, it works really well. Also look into possible health conditions. Acne, especially around the chin, jaw and neck area, is often a result of major hormonal imbalance. Which can be caused by a huge number of things due to the poor living habits of our culture in general. Specifically...sugar!!!

I recommend a diet low in sugar and animal products, high in fruit, veggies and whole grains. Lots of water! Try proactiv and alter your diet if you can. If proactiv doesn't work, laser is a reasonable option. Don't expect your diet to change things overnight, it can take a few months to a year to undo damage created over a lifetime..... but if you manage it you will be well on your way to permanent recovery from all kinds of health problems in your future.

No easy answers, I'm sorry.

( Proactiv worked for me within two weeks )
Reply:Instead of wasting hundreds on laser. You should go see a herbalist for help. I used to have a spot of redness on my forehead for a year and a half and it would not go away. I decided to go see a herbalist and she gave me some products that cleared it in 3 days.
Reply:I suffered the same until I had a hysterectomy at 35. Never did I suffer spots again. It seems it was all hormone related. Have you consulted your gp and perhaps taken a course of antibiotic or the pill? Frustrating, I know, and very difficult to settle the situation down.
Reply:Make a mixture of 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice and glycerin and apply it on the spots. Log on to http://tipsfromruby-acne.blogspot.com/ for a few home made tips to heal acne .

I Know, that about what everyone will say, but go for it

How do i get rid of adult acne?
my mom had acne since teen years- proactiv has worked wonders---no more pimples!

And also she is trying to find something less pricey, and says AcneFree (the rip-off Proactiv brand ) works...but since I'm still going through teen years, Im sticking to the Proactiv!
Reply:Give Proactive a try. Works well for my dad and me.
Reply:Read a book called "Natural Cures They Don't Want You to Know About".

It has changed my life.
Reply:Benzoyl peroxide! Neutrogena makes a good cleanser/mask that is under $10, and the tube lasts about a month. It's the same active ingredient as ProActiv, but much cheaper and just as effective. Also consider adding a salicylic acid toner to your routine. Clean your cell phone surface regularly; it holds germs which can cause pimples. I've heard that the Zeno machine works fabulously; but it's more for one or two spots versus a face full.

Good luck!
Reply:Plenty of good advice here.
Reply:I thought I had acne and it was Rosecea. But try Neutrogena Pore Reducer it is really good and not drying. If that doesn't work it might be hormonal.
Reply:Use of water create better result in this condition. Oftenly acne produced by menstrual distrubacne. If priods remain regularly then this problem did not created.
Reply:the same way you get rid of any acne. there is a great article here on how to deal with acne
Reply:Proactiv solution worked really good for me about 4 yrs ago and i dont have to use it no more.
