What are some products that are effective for adult acne?

Please don't mention Proactiv, because that didn't do anything but take my money!

What are some products that are effective for adult acne?
This condition in adults can have a number of causes. Some people naturally produce more oil in their faces, and therefore are more likely to suffer from acne problems. Poor sanitation sometimes plays a role, as do bacterial problems in some people. Rosacea is a condition confused with common acne in older people. This condition is frequently referred to as a form of acne. Rosacea causes reddening and swelling of the face, and other complications.

Although the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates what drugs are marketed to the public and whether the drugs are safe for use, every person's skin is different and may react differently to every product. If you suffer from skin dryness, itchiness, flakiness or irritation, consider switching to a medication with a lower concentration of active ingredient. Different inactive ingredients can also affect a medication's effectiveness. When consulting a medication label, be sure it is "noncomedogenic" which means it has been tested and proven to not clog pores.

I had developed adult acne (had none throughout puberty) and found that it was because I was wearing the wrong make-up and too much of it. My skin could not breathe. I opted to invest in microdermabrasion and a glycolic peel. It made a world of difference after one session, but if you don't want to do something costly, try Noredol Skin Care Gel is a newly patented cosmetic that reduces redness, blemishes and breakouts in skin affected by rosacea or acne. It also soothes and moisturizes the skin without irritation. All of this is possible with one convenient and innovative product. It is very good. You can purchase at www.noredol.com

Reply:See if you can get a copy of the old book CLEAR SKIN by Flandermeyer. I used Oxy 10, washed my face nightly and in the morning shower, and used a Buff Puff or generic to lightly remove the sloughing skin caused by the Oxy 10. This program will get you there, but you have to stick to it, even though you are seeing ugly, dry, flaky skin or redness for a while, you have to stick to it.

One piece of advice -- if you use a product with benzoyl peroxide in it, it will cause the pimples to accelerate, so even though you think the stuff made your skin worse, it actually got rid of the pimple faster than if you had left it alone. AND, that stuff bleaches things as well, so use white pillowcases and hand towels when you use this stuff.
Reply:Serious Skin Care makes a line called Continuously Clear that has worked really well for me. You can buy it through HSN.
Reply:If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.

For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
