This question is for people who have had adult acne/scarring and successfully treated it?

My boyfriend has tried everything from antibiotics to chemical peels, creams, lotions, sunbeds and organic microdermabrasion but nothing works, he gets lumps under his skin mostly around his nose and alot of small whiteheads aswell, he tried a drug called rackatin a few years ago which worked for a while but the side affects were horrendous, does anyone know of something that really works?

I have adult acne. I was prescribed lymecyline which does the job. Also on the more herbal side - Elderflower presse taken daily seems to reduce the sebum production. Also, and this also has MAJOR RISKS of SKIN CANCER, but I go on a sunbed if I have a particularly bad breakout and want to clear it up. But I would advise you to ask your doctor about the lymecyline first. I hope this helps xx
Reply:go and see a dermatoligist and ask for roaccutane
Reply:I tried Roaccutain, its really bad.

To be honest I found that if I avoid crappy junk food my skin is better.

Avoid Soaps and washing powder with extra crap in them, just wash yourself and your clothes using the `Value` brands as there is no added perfumes or extra cak in there that may cause irritation, just the basic ingredients that get the job done

Some days are better than others for my skin...
Reply:i feel for your situation because we are in the same boat, my hubby has suffered with acne / scarring since he was 14.... he has tried all the treatments but not chemical peel because we had been told that it wouldn't make much difference....my hubby gets lumps on his back, shoulders, face etc, and is prescribed the strongest cream they make, he gets terrible blackheads too but he has lots of hot baths which he swears helps, whether it does only he knows..... i don't see his acne i only see my lovely hubby, but it would be a great pressie for someone to remove it, i know he would feel relief.....laser treatment has been recommended to him, but we are still talking about it.....
Reply:For the scarring, try Bio Oil. Works wonders!! Available from chemists and superdrug, and possibly boots. Has your boyfriend tried any Herbal tablets? Theres always a good selection on ebay. Though most of these take a good few weeks to take affect the results are long lasting. Also Acne 101e is very good! Give it ago! Good luck! :-)
Reply:Please try Roaccutain again. Like the others have said, it is the future. It has some uncomfortable effects like dry lips and eyes, but is does really work. Give it again whirl.
