Adult Acne!?

I am 36 years old and have acne now as bad as i ever have, im not covered in it but i get some bad outbreaks that really hurt and im soo tired of it! Anyone have some suggetions? Ive tried most treatments I have found and thought maybe someone here had some good tips for me =o]

I use accutane. It could be a little overkill,but it works. Ask your dermatologist:)

My doctor prescribed minocycline as an oral anitbiotic, and I've tried several different topical treatments, Du-Ac being the best so far.


See your dermatologist - there's nothing over the counter that will help. However, the daily cleanser you use may be making matters worse. Try to find something that is non-comedogenic and fragrance-free for better cleansing results.
Reply:Acne, especially adult acne, origins (in the bottom line) from toxins in the blood and a poor liver function. NO topical cream or cleasner will cure acne, so might help (watch out not to overdry - it will irritate the skin and might cause breakouts). Reply:i have been fighting adult acne for a long time. mine is a type of cystic leison, the large, painful, bumpy ones you get deep under your skin and take forever to heal. they are caused purely by hormonal inbalance. my demo told me most cystic type adult acne in women is caused by high level of testostrone (!). in such case, proactive (or any other OTC stuff) was useless in my situation. it almost only agitated my poor skin more, drying up areas of healthy skin.





so to treat my particular problem, i turned to BC. the one i am currently on is yaz, which is low in hormones so the side effects (weight gain, nausea, breast tenderness) are low. in my case, there was none, unlike when i was on ortho-tri. my skin imporved after 2 months (you will have to give your body time to adjust). in combination with the pill, i wash my face with 4% benzol peroxide face wash. it requires prescription and can be pricey if you dont have RX insurance, but works very well for me. i never thought this day would come: I actually have people complimenting on my skin now.

raw unpasteurized apple cider vinegar


to open the pores and loosen dirt and grease from your face turn off the heat from a pan of distilled water, add 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar to a quart of the hot water. drape a towel over the pan and your head to steam clean your pores. take a cotton ball, dip in vinegar and pat over skin to remove loosened dirt. repeat 2 more times. then spray or dab on chilled vinegar and equal part of distilled water to close your pores and tone your skin. do twice weekly, also can use the chilled vinegar water as a toner 2 times daily.
